MSU AITP Members Win At Regional Competition
Four members of MSU's Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) took top placings in their events in the Region VII student conference held at Birmingham, Ala. on Oct. 14 and 15, 2005. This year's conference was sponsored by the Birmingham, Ala. Chapter. Eleven schools and technical colleges from the South East region participated in this annual event.

The teams consisted of:
Mohamed Ebrahim, a Senior and Computer Information Systems major and Stephanie Buford, a Junior and Computer Information Systems major.
Andrew Hill, a Senior and Computer Information Systems major and Christopher Totty, a Sophomore and Computer Science major.

Hill and Totty took 1st place in Web Redesign, and Ebrahim and Buford placed 2nd in Systems Analysis and Design. Mohamed Ebrahim also competed in Visual Studio Net Programming, placing 1st. He took 1st place in the same event last Fall in the Regional Competition and at the National competition in Atlanta last Spring.

Buford, Totty, and Hill all competed for the first time and are looking forward to the National AITP student competition in Dallas in April 2006.

The Murray Chapter of AITP has grown significantly under the leadership Dr. Solomon Antony who accompanied the students on this trip.

AITP provides leadership, professional development and personal growth opportunities. The organization offers quality Information Technology related education, information on relevant Information Technology issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other Information Technology professionals for nearly 9,000 members.
