Internships

The career services office coordinates the cooperative work study and Internship programs. This is an excellent way to get class credit while learning a lot about your career. Our curriculum recognizes the value of such experiences and encourages students to participate fully in these activities. Most employers look at this as a "try-before-you-buy" opportunity where they can observe the student's work habits and if they would make a good employee in the future. Students also have the same opportunity to see if they would like to work there at a future time. It is very common for employers to go first to their "intern pool" before hiring from outside.

Students may also qualify for a variety of (on-campus) student worker positions that allow the student to work for a fixed number of hours each week. The number of hours depends on the type of program and the financial need of the students. These may be in individual departments or even computer labs.

... and of course, you need to register before employers know you exist! Click here to register at Murray State's Career services.
